“I had known Shelli a few years before we starting working together. One day, at a neighborhood gym, she was there. I shared with her that my mother had just passed away, and I wanted a big goal to work towards in order to help me cope with her loss, and have something positive to focus on. “Shelli Jones is an amazingly effective coach. Six months on my yearlong journey of working with Shelli, I have shed 44 pounds so far and gained lean muscle. I hired her because I was inspired by her impressive physique and her successful comeback to competitive bodybuilding. Although I had no plans to compete at a bodybuilding contest, I believed there was no one better than a successful bodybuilder to effectively and efficiently help me gain muscle and lose bodyfat—and I needed my own comeback because had a lot to lose. “After training and eating what I thought was “clean” for 3 years, I found myself yearning for something more challenging. Through a lot of research on fitness coaches I came across Shelli who seemed to have a no-B.S. attitude and seemed to really put her all into her client’s progress. I came to Shelli wanting to compete in a bikini competition, but had no idea what I was actually committing to. So after meeting in-person with her, I knew she was the perfect fit for me and my personality.
Through my first few weeks of competition prep I figured out quickly that I didn’t understand nutrition quite as well as I thought, lifting as heavy as possible everyday doesn’t create definition or balance in muscles, and you don’t need to work out your abs every single day if you are eating right.

After the show, when the tan faded, the make-up was off and I finally started smelling normal (from the tan and lack of D.O.) I was ready to eat but also ready to feel normal again. Without Shelli’s expertise with reverse dieting, I don’t think I would have been comfortable with handling my diet alone. I heard and read so many horror stories about competitors gaining 10-15 lbs in a week and I was truly scared of that happening. Shelli, though, like always had me set me up for success and watched my weight closely to make sure she was giving my body what it needed, when it needed it. It was exciting! More food, better training sessions and overall feeling fabulous in my body because it was getting more food in small doses which is what it needed in order to not crash! I literally couldn’t have done it without her. Here I am today, 4 lbs from my comp weight, getting 500/600 more calories than I was 7 weeks ago and having great lifts. I lost 17 lbs during the process and now I can’t imagine putting that weight back on (unless its muscle of course). “I started working with Shelli in late 2017, after acknowledging I needed expert advice to take my strength training and nutrition planning to the next level. I have no competition plans but did have personal goals. I had plateaued and was falling short of my goals, and Shelli came highly recommended so I thought I’d give it a shot. “Entering my 4th season of competing I found myself in a position I had never experienced before. I started with a different coach whom I gave my trust and within a few very short months I had gone from the leanest I had been to date to carrying the most body fat I had ever had in my entire life.
Long story short I let the coach go and began working on reversing the damage that had happened by myself. I was making progress but was not going to meet my goals for the 2017 season. “I began working with Shelli in October 2015, after I had enough of being heavier than I wanted and not getting any proper, regular exercise. At age 54, I had a difficult time losing weight on my own. Shelli designed a proper “doable” diet and with moderate exercise and Shelli there every step to help keep me on track, I amazed myself! In a 3 month period of time my weight dropped from 155 lbs to 134lbs, but most amazing, my body fat went from 30% down to 16.5%, with numerous inches lost and lean muscle gained.
